Design guidelines

We recommend using our templates and guides for preparing your print-ready PDF.

You can download our guides and templates in the template section. Remember to delete the template layers before exporting your design to PDF.

If you already have a design, no worries; we accept other file formats, including JPEG, PNG, or EPS.

For photographic content, high-resolution JPEGs are recommended, preferably without compression. For graphics or text-based content, we recommend print-ready, vector-based PDFs. For content that is a combination of graphics and photography, we suggest using print-ready PDFs to ensure the best quality.

Use CMYK as the colour mode.

Prepare your files using CMYK as the colour mode, not RGB. Use colourmode FOGRA39 (ISO Coated v2). If you are unsure of the colour mode of your file, don't worry we can always convert this for you. Keep in mind this can cause the colours to differ from the original file.

Resolution of at least 150 dpi.

Make sure the resolution of the images and graphics in your artwork are at least 150 dpi.

Add 5 mm bleed and keep 50 mm safety margin

During production, there might be a slight cut deviation. To avoid any issues, we recommend the following:

Add a 5 mm bleed around all edges of your design.
Keep important elements 50 mm away from the edge or folding lines.

Text and fonts specifications (Min. font size is 60 pt)

For this product, the minimum font size is 60 pt. To avoid any issues, we recommend the following:

Fonts must be embedded or outlined.
If your design contains small black text, make sure it is 100 % black (Cyan: 0 Magenta: 0 Yellow: 0 Black: 100).

Note that we don't check spelling or typographical errors.

Lines and text should be at least 5.6 pt. (2 mm)

A non-hemmed finish with rings every 30 cm on a banner involves leaving the edges raw and adding rings every 30 cm for easy hanging, suitable for short-term use.

Package

We pack our products on a roll, except for the Recyclable Polyester material, which is folded and carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and kraft paper to protect it. Your banner will be shipped in either a cardboard box or a tube for safe delivery.

Note: Your banner will be delivered folded when width & height are both above 200 cm in size.

How can I upload my artwork for large designs and custom sizes?

Our uploader allows easy uploading of large files. When saving a Photoshop file as a PDF, disabling the edit mode and unchecking "preserve Photoshop editing capabilities" reduces file size without compromising quality. For additional artwork details, please refer to our help centre.

Which production techniques do we use?

For the production of Custom Banners, we use UV-printing. Our eco-friendly UV ink is instantly cured with UV light, preventing ink spread after printing and resulting in sharper and higher quality prints.

Which material can I choose from?

• Standard PVC Durable Vinyl 510 gsm: This is the most popular material for banners. It's sturdy, waterproof and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It's also reusable and fire-retardant.
• Windproof Perforated PVC 270 gsm: This material is suitable for outdoor locations with a lot of wind. Thanks to the small holes in the fabric, wind easily passes through and prevents the material from damage. Please note that QR codes printed on a mesh banner won't function due to the fabric's perforated structure.
• Blockout PVC Double Sided 610 gsm: This material is slightly thicker and, unlike other banners, not transparent. It's ideal if you want to print on both sides of your banner.
• Budget PVC Single use 450 gsm: This banner is of a lower quality as it's meant for one-time use. It's most commonly used for parties and themed events.
• PVC Free Polyester 225 gsm: ProPES is a recyclable and foldable, lightweight polyester fabric. This fabric type has the highest possible colour intensity and the print is made with water-based pigment ink. Please note that this material does not have a fire-retardant certification.

What type of finishing can I choose for my custom size banner?

• Without reinforced edges or rings: The banner will be only be trimmed and will not include rings.
• Rings every 30cm, with reinforcement The edges are hemmed (folded and sewn to create a clean finish), with rings added every 30 cm for easy hanging. The rings are placed approximately 15 mm from the edge of the banner and have an internal diameter of 1.20 cm. • Rings in the corners, with reinforcement: The edges are hemmed with rings placed in the corner for extra stability and easy hanging. The rings are placed approx. 15 mm from the edge of the banner and have an internal diameter of 1.20 cm.
• Rings every 30cm, without reinforcement: The banner is trimmed and has rings for easy hanging. Please note that it's only possible to hang banners up to a maximum size of 150 x 300 cm. More rings result in more possibilities to hang and ultimately make the banner better attached to your desired surface.
• Rings in the corners, without reinforcement: The banner is trimmed and has rings for easy hanging. Please note that it's only possible to hang banners up to a maximum size of 150 x 300 cm. The distance from the edge of the banner to the rings is approx. 15 mm.
•Tunnels: Choose between tunnels on both sides, top and bottom, or only on the left side of the banner. The tunnels have an 8 cm flat opening where you can insert a pole. This finishing is recommended if you want a stable and stretched out look for your banner.

Can I also buy elastic bands for my banner?

Yes, it's possible to buy elastic bands with your banner. If you have rings in your banner, elastic bands are very useful to hang it up.

What does "B1 Certified" mean when it comes to a material being fire retardant?

The B1 fire retardant certificate certifies that certain materials are "hardly flammable," making them safe for indoor use. Such materials have a low risk of catching fire and do not easily spread flames, providing additional protection against potential hazards.
