How to Choose the Right Flyer Special Material to Make Your Design Stand Out
Different flyer designs shine best on certain flyer materials. Most artworks look amazing when printed on ordinary flyer paper. However, they don’t always work on certain special flyer materials.
The best way to maximise the use of your flyers is by creating designs that complement the unique qualities of your chosen flyer material. Learn how to create fitting flyer material designs that stand out:
Cardboard
Cardboard paper is thick white paper cardboard with a coated finish, made from bleached chemical pulp. They are hygienic, pure, and contain no smell or taste. This flyer material is almost as thick as the paper used by greeting cards.
Flyer Material Design Specifications
Cardboard’s completely white surface makes it suitable for printing all kinds of artworks, including text-heavy and graphics-heavy flyer material designs. However, remember to follow the basics in creating your flyer design, which includes setting it to CMYK colour mode and using high-quality images and graphics.
Kraft Paper
If you’re looking for eco-friendly paper options, go with 100% biodegradable Kraft Paper. This paper is durable and tear-resistant. It has a brown, uncoated textured surface, giving it a rustic but stylish look and feel.
Flyer Material Design Specifications
While you can print any colourful flyer material design on Kraft Paper, minimalist designs and illustrations with one to three colours look best on the page.
All colours, except for black, change when printed on the paper’s brown surface. Light colours like yellow are barely noticeable on the page unless there is a dark outline to make them stand out. The colour white does not even appear and will only appear as the brown Foldkraft Paper when printed. Meanwhile, dark or muted shades appear darker. The vibrancy of fluorescent ink will tone done but will still keep some of its brightness on this kind of flyer paper.
Metallic Paper
Using Metallic Paper to print your flyer material design creates special flyers that sparkle under the light. Some of these papers have gentle iridescences, while others shine brilliantly. They come in three colours, namely white, gold, and silver.
Flyer Material Design Specifications
Similar to Foldkraft Paper, white graphics do not show up on gold, silver, and white Metallic Paper. You should also avoid creating designs that have similar colours to the paper you plan to use.
Create contrast in your flyer design by using darker colours that stand out against the gold, silver, or white page. It helps highlight the shimmer effect while keeping the design clear and legible.
Synthetic Paper
YUPOBLUE’s synthetic Paper is a durable and tear-proof. It also combines the benefits of natural paper and plastic film. Not only are these special flyers resistant to water, chemicals, UV light, and stains, but they are also 100% recyclable.
Flyer Material Design Specifications
Just like for Sulfate Boards, there are few limitations on what kind of design you want to print on these special flyers. There will be no problem as long as it follows the standard artwork specifications.
However, you cannot use this flyer material for regular inkjet printing, laser printing, or photocopying. You can, however, print your designs using other printing technologies, including screen printing, offset printing, thermal transfer, letterpress, and gravure printing.
The right combination of flyer material and design can do wonders for your business. It will help you both stand out, generate interest in your offers, and improve brand recognition. Choose the best flyer material that can help distinguish your advertisements from the competition.
