How to Hang Your Canvas on the Wall
Imagine putting up on a wall the best moment of your life, caught on camera. Photo printing enables you to print your favourite moments caught on camera. One of the most popular types of photo printing is canvas prints. They are a sturdy and durable type of photo print that’s perfect for decorating your house or office. They are very versatile and can work for any kind of space. You can have one in any part of the house such as your desk or the living room wall.
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to hang a canvas on your wall:
1. Pick the best location
Decide where you want to hang up your canvas print. Make sure there are no electric cables or pipes underneath the wall on which you are going to attach the hook, nail, or screw.
2. Mark the wall
Use a pencil to mark where you want to place the hook, nail or screw. Remember that your canvas will sit slightly above your pencil mark.
3. Attach the hook or nail into the marked spot
There are different ways of attaching the hook or nail into the wall. You may either drill a hole and put the screw or hook in, you could also hammer a nail into the wall.
4. Attach a sawtooth bracket to your canvas
Mark the centre top of the wood at the back of your canvas. This will guide you on where you can attach your sawtooth bracket which will help your canvas hang on the wall. Screw in that bracket using a screwdriver.
If a sawtooth bracket is not available, you can attach a wire at the back of your canvas print and use that to hang on your wall.
5. Hang your canvas
It’s time to hang your canvas print on the wall. If it isn’t straight, adjust the placement of the canvas until it’s levelled. You might also need another person to help you along. Use a bubble level to see if it’s perfectly straight.
Alternatives
If you prefer not to make a hole into your wall, there are other ways you can display your canvas prints.
The first option is to use adhesive strips or hooks. No drilling is needed. All you have to do is remove the plastic on the adhesive and stick it on the wall.
Remember: consider the size and weight of your canvas. Adhesive strips won’t be able to hold up something big and heavy for long.
You can also use wire grid displays as another alternative on how to hang a canvas board. You can put it against a wall or have it stand on its own. Simply attach hooks on the wire grid display and hang your canvas.
Consider using an easel to display your canvas. Though it only allows for one canvas to be displayed, it makes your room more stylish. It is also a clever way to exhibit your print without damaging any wall surface in your house.
At the end of it all, get your friend, spouse, roommate, sibling or whoever you’re living with and have fun while putting up your canvas. Go and nail it!
