We have customised submission specifications for Spot-UV and Foil printing.

  • Fonts should be at least 12 pt. for the finishing.
  • Lines should be at least 1 pt. thick for the finishing.
  • Logos or text should be vectorized for the finishing.
  • The exclusive finishing should cover less than 50% of the surface area of the product.

Add 3 mm bleed.

To allow leeway for cutting differences in production, always add a bleed of 3 mm around all edges of your design. Make sure colours, background pictures and layouts extend into the bleed area so as to avoid leaving white lines as a result of cutting tolerances.

Keep 4 mm safety margin.

Keep all important text and images at least 4 mm away from the edge of the finished size.

Use CMYK as the colour mode.

Prepare your files using CMYK as the colour mode, not RGB. Use colourmode FOGRA39 (ISO Coated v2). If you are unsure of the colour mode of your file, don't worry we can always convert this for you. Keep in mind this can cause the colours to differ from the original file.

Resolution of at least 300 dpi.

Make sure the resolution of the images and graphics in your artwork are at least 300 dpi.

Fonts should be at least 6 pt.

Fonts should be at least 6 pt.

Convert fonts to outlines or embed all the fonts.

Make sure you convert fonts to outlines or embed all the fonts when saving it to PDF.

Make sure the ink coverage isn't higher than 300%.

Force Colour Images to CMYK with a 260% ink limit (in Photoshop > Convert Colour Profile > Photoshop 5 Default CMYK). Make sure the ink coverage isn't higher than 300%.

Save your files in uneditable, print-ready file formats.

Save your files in uneditable, print-ready file formats (PDF (1.4 or higher), TIFF, EPS, JPG). Deliver your files in one layer: the background layer.

Use the right values for full colour black.

Use Rich Black (C:63% M:52% Y:51% K:100%) for larger areas and text to get a deep black colour. Do not use this value for text smaller than 15 pt or plain text. This can only be used in full colour printing. For designing black smaller texts use 100% black.

Check line thickness.

Lines should be at least 0.25 pt. Negative lines should be at least 0.5 pt.

Check your artwork for overprint.

Make sure no elements in your artwork are set on overprint unless you want this effect in your design. You can read more about overprint in our Help Centre.

Check your artwork before submitting your files

We do not check spelling, grammar, punctuation or personal information (such as telephone numbers), so be sure to check these yourself before submitting files.

Frequently asked questions
What is this product?
  • Flyers with Exclusive Finishes are single or double-sided printed sheet of paper that are used for advertising or marketing purposes. Flyers with Exclusive Finishes are an extremely popular marketing tool as they're cost-effective, durable and easy to read. Whether you're a large, medium, or small sized business, flyers are effective advertising for all. They can be ordered in multiple sizes; with A6, A5, A4, and DL being our most popular sizes. Use them to increase sales, gain new customers, or to promote your services.

Will my flyers come pre-folded?
  • Flyers are single sheets of printed paper, so they do not come folded. If you're looking for folded flyers, take a look at our folded leaflets.

Can flyers be printed with a tear line or drill hole?
  • Unfortunately, Flyers with Exclusive Finishes cannot be printed with a tear line or drill holes. However, we do offer tickets that can be delivered with a tear line. Alternatively, if you're interested in adding punch holes to your design, our Swing Tags may be the option for you.

Should I choose single or double sided Flyers with Exclusive Finishes?
  • Well, this depends on how much information you'd like to convey through your Flyers with Exclusive Finishes! Single sided Flyers with Exclusive Finishes are usually the cheaper option but if you'd like to provide additional information, double sided Flyers with Exclusive Finishes give you ample space to do so. That way, you can ensure that your flyer isn't crammed with too much information.

PLEASE NOTE: Printing double-sided with a gsm lesser than 200gsm can result in a level of transparency. For best results, we suggest ordering 200gsm or higher for double sided printing.

What paper can I use for my Flyers with Exclusive Finishes?
  • The Sturdy 300gsm invercote g is almost as thick as a regular postcard, it is a perfect classic option for long-lasting flyers.

  • The Sturdy 300gsm invercote creato material has a postcard thickness and both sides of the paper are coated to give off a nice matte finish.

  • The Semi-Solide 350gsm kingboard is one of the thickest options we offer and it has an uneven cardstock surface.

  • The Sturdy 300gsm soho tinteretto touch paper has a postcard thickness and a slighly creamier colour with an uneven cardstock surface.

What is the best size for my flyer ?
  • Flyer printing is possible in multiple sizes and formats to meet all your communication needs. However, as advertisers and professionals with commercial graphic design experience will tell you, communication agencies and marketing teams usually choose standard dimensions for flyers. The A5 size format is generally the standard flyer size. Either way, it’s essential to think about which format will best let you display your headline and images in order to appeal to your target audience and capture their attention.

  • A7: This format is 74 x 105 mm and about one eighth of an A4. This would be the smallest size we'd recommend for printing flyers, any smaller and your target audience might miss them.

  • A6: This format is 105x148mm and most comparable to the size of a postcard. Though a tad smaller than your average flyer, it can still be designed to pack a punch for effective communication.

  • A5: This format is 148 x 210 mm and the standard flyer size used for promotional campaigns and marketing strategies. Flyers of this size are extremely convenient for distribution as well.

  • A4: The format is 210 x 297 mm and can be quite useful for companies, business enterprises, and local administrations with a lot of information to share. They can also easily be folded, put in an envelope and sent by post when needed (school leaflets, for example).

  • A3: This format is closer to the size of a small poster and would be convenient to display offers or upcoming events on walls and shop windows. Since they're large, they draw a lot of attention.

  • Square Format: This format of flyers can be used for more personal communication with potential customers. They're quite a unique format and are an elegant and original choice. They can also be transformed into invitations.

  • ALong / Xlong Format: The A-Long (74 x 210 mm) and X-Long (105 x 297 mm) format are both long and slim in appearance. They can be designed to make useful and engaging communication pieces. For example, they can be printed with illustrations and eye-catching text that is attractive to potential customers, who can then use them as bookmarks.

  • DL: This format is 99x210 mm and comparable to the size of an envelope. This means they can be easily tailored for direct marketing, and are convenient for advertisements or discount codes you would like to send to customers via post.

Which production techniques do we use?
  • For the production of Flyers with Exclusive Finishes, we use the following technique(s):

  • Digital printing: Uses four colours (CMYK) with toners and inks to print digital files. This option is comparable to a large home printer, and is cheaper than Litho printing for smaller quantities. This is because there are fewer starting costs, fewer components involved, and no ink drying time required.

  • Offset Lithography printing or Litho printing makes it possible to provide larger quantities at unbeatable prices. This technique creates images and text with wet ink and is transferred to each paper sheet with aluminium and rubber plates. This method is more extensive than its 'digital’ counterpart because of the different printing materials that are used. However, it is still the most cost-effective option when you order bigger batches.

What is the fastest possible delivery for my Flyers with Exclusive Finishes?
  • 5 working days.

  • The turnaround depends on the combination of size, material, printing and quantity.

To make sure that your order is delivered at the indicated time, it is important that we receive your file with your design for the product, on time (also called cut-off time). In this way the product can be put into production on time. The deadline is always communicated in the bar on the product page, above the "Add to shopping cart" button.

The cut-off time for your printed item may vary. This depends on the combination you choose. This has to do with the manufacturing technique and / or the order quantities.

NOTE: The product delivery shifts a day every time the deadline for submission has passed. This is also the case if the file is rejected by us and corrected artwork isn't supplied before the next cut off time.

Which carriers are used for the delivery?
  • HelloPrint collaborates with multiple couriers to be able to deliver your orders in a fast and efficient manner. The delivery will be sent to your indicated address with DHL, UPS, or DPD and you'll be able to follow the status of your delivery through your account. You will receive an email with a tracking link when your order is in transit, and your items will be packed and delivered according to the turnover you've chosen (provided there are no delays).

What determines the price of my printed flyers?
  • Flyer printing gained its appeal because of its effectiveness at gaining new leads at an affordable rate. This makes flyer printing worthwhile because they can be ordered at competitive prices. The overall price of your flyers will vary depending on the type of paper you choose, the finish of the flyer i.e. gloss, matt, or uncoated, and the quantity.

  • On our site we also indicate discounted prices or product specifications that you can combine to get the best deal out of the flyer price list. This can vary from ‘recommended' and ‘most popular’ to ‘best price’ tags to indicate the various bargain prices.

  • The funnel on the flyer product page is flexible and user friendly, so you're able to personalise your specifications to fit your budget, campaign, and other needs. The possibilities we offer for business flyers are all accessible via our website. However, you’re welcome to contact our customer experience heroes who will be happy to see if they can help set-up your ideal order.

How do I make my flyer eye-catching?
  • Here are 3 top tips to make your flyer effective at garnering attention:
    1. Try using 2 fonts - one for the headline and one for the body. A flyer that has too many fonts is difficult to read and looks unprofessional.
    2. Make your headline catchy and easy to read. The shorter it is, the better your chances are of engrossing the reader. 3. Lastly, images are powerful. Try adding a photo instead of loads of text. It works better at drawing a reader in, as large bodies of text can be daunting to read.
