This square size wonderfully fits both portrait and landscape photographs while providing plenty of room for captions and other content.
Note: We advise selecting a number of pages that is a multiple of 4 (e.g., 24, 28, 32, etc.). Why? Otherwise, your photo book will contain blank pages. If you have any questions, please get in touch with our customer service team.

For preparing your file we recommend using our template. This is the best way to deliver your file perfectly.
- Double page printing

The first interior page is always printed on the right. This means that double page printing e.g. images or text across both pages is not possible on this first page. For the rest of the booklet, interior pages are printed left to right and double page printing is possible.
- Save the file for booklets as multi-page PDF document.

Save the file for booklets not as spreads, but as multi-page PDF document, starting with the cover page (NOTE: saving as a multi-page PDF means 1 PDF file with multiple pages inside). Delete empty unnecessary pages from the file with the final save. Desired blank pages have to stay in the file.
- Add 3 mm bleed.

To allow leeway for cutting differences in production, always add a bleed of 3 mm around all edges of your design. Make sure colours, background pictures and layouts extend into the bleed area so as to avoid leaving white lines as a result of cutting tolerances.
- Keep 15 mm safety margin for the cover

Keep all important text and images at least 15 mm away from the edge of the finished size.

Make sure the resolution of the images and graphics in your artwork are at least 300 dpi.
- Use CMYK as the colour mode.

Prepare your files using CMYK as the colour mode, not RGB. Use colourmode FOGRA39 (ISO Coated v2). If you are unsure of the colour mode of your file, don't worry we can always convert this for you. Keep in mind this can cause the colours to differ from the original file.

The covers are made of sturdy and durable grey cardboard that are later covered with printed photo paper. Our hardback books are available in various sizes, materials and numbers of pages! They are the ideal personal gift for friends and family.

For the production of Large Square Photo Book, we use the following technique(s):

Digital printing: Uses four colours (CMYK) with toners and inks to print digital files. This option is comparable to a large home printer, and is cheaper than Litho printing for smaller quantities. This is because there are less starting costs, fewer components involved, and no ink drying time necessary.

- Is the amount of pages equal to the amount of paper sheets?

No. This is because the pages are folded and printed on both sides. A sheet of paper gets folded in the middle so it covers 4 pages (2 on the front and 2 on the back). For instance, when you choose an A4 size brochure with 8 pages, we print two A3 sheets (two times as big as A4) and fold them in half, which results in a total of 8 pages.

How many pages does a photo book have?
For your Large Square Photo Book, you can select up to 196 pages. If you choose 24 pages, you'll have 24 sides to fill with pictures (12 sheets of paper). If you want to add more pages, we recommend selecting a multiple of four pages (24, 28, 32, etc.) because pages will be added per four sides. For example, if you choose to add only one page, three sides will remain blank or if you choose just two pages, two pages will be left blank. What is the fastest possible turnaround for Large Square Photo Book?
